When the home owners moved into this house they knew they were going to need another shower and more living space for their family. Originally the space was a dropped ceiling HVAC nightmare that lacked light and the ceilings were so low it felt like you needed to constantly duck your head. We worked with our trade partners, especially HVAC, to make the 400 sq ft space feel bigger. We were able to raise the ceiling around 8 inches without making any major structural changes. 

From the beginning these clients were very involved with their own projects, from adding some very special lighting details, to building their own mudroom, to creating an archway to match the upstairs. We pulled other existing details from the main floor into the basement to give a sense of belonging to the house and honor the previous builders. We also added in some modern conveniences, like a floating vanity cabinet, floating shelves, scene controls for lighting, and some auto shades for the theater space.
